what
is this ting !
(Grapefruit
Soda)
Ting, made from Jamaican
grapefruit with no preservatives is the ultimate thirst
quencher. It is a lightly carbonated citrus drink.
This carbonated drink with
the green and yellow label is the unofficial national soft drink
of Jamaica. It is quite simple and all apologies to "aranciatta,
the greatest non-alcoholic summer beverage, full stop. Sure
there are cheap imitations, but they are just that.
The
drink is unstoppable on ice. It goes nice with the hard stuff,
the universal deadly Sin Ting will set
your teeth chattering.
Ting -
the Jamaican sunshine and cool breeze in a bottle.

What they
are saying on the internationally fourum about dis TING!!

The Real
Ting..
A
truly sharp & tasty beverage. All too rare in the UK. Beats
out premium -ades at soda prices so a real bargain if you can
find it. The Real Ting!
Great

...When
my sister and I were growing up my parents would bring us on
vacation at places the Caribbean, either sailing or flying. At
our various stopovers they quite often had Ting available and
it's pretty tasty. Anytime I drink it now it reminds of those
trips.
Ting!

This is the best grapefruit soda ever, because
real juice and real sugar are used, intead of artificial
flavors and high fructose corn syrup.

While
I wish it were cheaper (prices in my Brooklyn, NY neighborhood
vary from 1.25 to 1.75 for a 9.6 oz bottle), this is the drink
of the gods (or at least would be of the Rastafarian god,
Emperor Haile Selasse of Ethiopia, if he were still alive).
Crisp, lots of distinctive Jamaican grapefruit flavor, just the
right amount of sugar and carbonation... If they had a diet
version in 2 liter bottles, I'd be an addict. Sorry for those
outside US distribution area who can't get from store shelves on
a whim

ting)

I
have never been to Jamaica, and normally I try to keep my
fantasies beyond the exotic, but I still imagine a tree in
Spanish Town with the stuff flowing freely out of a Tap.

The most refreshing drink ever. Takes you right to the
islands. Not bad with MountGay Rum either

The best way to gauge any Jamaican restaurant is to take a
peek into the beverage cooler. I was
delighted to see my favorite (and difficult to find) drink:
Ting, a grapefruit soda imported from Jamaica. There
was D&G ginger beer on hand too; in the islands, D&G is to
ginger beer what Coke is to cola, so this was a portent of
Good Eats Coming.
There was also coconut water (with jelly!
according to the label), peanut punch, and a milky,
nacreous-looking brew labeled grand slam stud tonic
