Launches TING in the UK

The product is available from selected Tesco, Asda, Somerfield, Morrisons and Holland and Barrett stores and throughout the independent trade from 4th July.  The product (Original and Diet) will be available in 330 ml cans and 500ml PET bottles, the former retailing at around 50p, the latter at around 69p.  A pink grapefruit variant will be added to the range in due course. The partnership will begin with a weeks pre-promotion Launching on 4th July and listeners will be asked to submit tracks from 11th July through to 31st July when each station's lucky winner will be announced. One winner from each station will have their track burned to CD and sold in Virgin Megastore.  All proceeds from the sales will be donated to charity

To support the launch of Ting, partnerships have been set up with London radio stations Kiss 100 FM and Choice FM.  Promotion of the Ting brand will lead in the form of a competition encouraging radio listeners to create music based around the concept of 'It's a London Ting' inspired by Scott Garcia's 1997 track. DJ's involved include Masterstepz from Choice FM and Jez Whelham from Kiss 100 FM, each DJ will create their own inspired version of the track to encourage listeners to get involved.

Ting has also teamed up with London's MetroLife Magazine to find the ultimate London "LOOK". Just two weeks ago readers were invited to submit photographs of ‘their’ London for the chance to win a fantastic holiday to Jamaica and the opportunity of seeing their image appear on the CD sleeve of the soon to be released charity single ‘It’s a London Ting’. Taste tests conducted in Manchester revealed that 70% of the 300 people trialed, preferred Ting and only 30% preferred other leading tropical soft drinks available in the market.  The taste tests also revealed that another leading brand's 'totally tropical taste' was considered weak and chemical in comparison to its Jamaican counterpart's.

Legend has it, Ting was discovered as a 'lucky accident'...A Jamaican grapefruit drink was brewing in a bath tub when someone asked "what are we gonna do wit 'tis ting?", and the rest is history. The plant and recipe were then bought by Desnoes & Geddes who helped shape the brand as Jamaica's number 1 drink.  Ting was then bought by Pepsi Americas in 1999.

Ting is an authentic brand with an established heritage.
